Text Messages

Text Messages is a set in the CPS/RM configuration of all MOTOTRBO radios - even radios which do not have a keypad and display. This set allows the technician to add a number of pre-programmed text messages that the user can select and send from the menu or by pressing a one-touch access button.

The Max. Length of Message Sent determines the maximum number of characters in a text message. Short should only be selected when there are older MOTOTRBO or other makes of radios on the network and these must be able to send and receive text messages. Short means 140 characters. Long means 280 characters. Long text messages are only supported in radios with firmware R02.05.00 or later. This setting also determines the maximum length for freeform text messages!
