Mute Timer

Mute Timer is a feature and CPS/RM setting that allows the user to mute the radio by placing it face down. This is useful when they are in a quiet environment (e.g. an important meeting) and do not want the radio to play any sounds such as voice calls, alert tones, voice announcements or Text to Speech announcements.[1]

When placed face down, the portable will remain muted for duration defined here. Only models which have an integrated accelerometer will support this feature. The range for this setting is 0,5 to 6 hours in 30 minute increments. It can also be set to infinite, in which case, the radio will remain muted for as long as it is face down.

Putting the radio back into a vertical (or any other) position will unmute it.
