5 Tone User ID

The 5 Tone ID fields can be found in the General Settings set of a select-5 capable radio codeplug/configuration. This allows the default value of the variable digits U1 to U8. These variable digits can be changed by the user via the menu. Valid entries are single-byte values of 0 to 9, BCD and F. By default A and E are reserved for group and repeat in most select-5 systems.[1]

So if an encoder sequence is configured to send 10(U1U2U3U4U5U6U7U8) and U1=3; U2=4; U3=6; U4=2; U5=7; U6=1; U7=9; U8=3, the radio will transmit digits 1034627193.
