All Call
Description
All Call sets up a one-way call to all users on the channel or system. This allows a supervisor or dispatcher to instantly make an announcement to all users. If configured to do this, a MOTOTRBO radio user can simply press PTT and transmit to all users at once. This could be used for example for evacuation orders.
In IP Site Connect and Capacity Plus systems, this works well with Transmit Interrupt. thus allowing the user to stop an ongoing transmission thereby freeing up the channel/slot to pass the All Call.
On conventional and IP Site Connect systems, All Call goes out to all radios on the channel/slot the radio is currently operating on. Users on other channels may therefore miss the call. if their radios are on a different channel/slot. On Capacity Plus and Capacity Max systems, All Call goes out to every radio user who is not transmitting, since channels are pooled and automatically assigned.
