Accessory Connector
Portable Radios
The accessory connector allows a wide range of audio and data accessories to be connected to the radio. These include remote speaker-microphones; surveillance earpieces and programming cables. The audio accessories from one model range generally cannot be used on another model range - except if noted below.
Types of Audio Accessories
There are four basic types of audio accessories used with portable radios:
- Remote Speaker-Microphones (RSM).
- Surveillance Accessories.
- Headsets.
- Wireless Accessories (see also Bluetooth).
DP1400
The DP1400 uses a two-pin 2,5+3,5mm connector like that which was used on previous generation radios like the CP140 and GP300. In fact the accessories from these radios can be reused on the DP1400. In the EU, accessories must be approved to work with a specific model in order to meet the RED directive and be CE.
