Automatic Range Transponding Signalling (ARTS) helps radio users, on an analogue simplex channel to ensure they are always within RF range of each other. ARTS does this by having all radios on the channel automatically check in with each other from time to time. If a radio doesn’t respond, the team members are informed which radio is offline or out of range. At the same time, that user also gets an alert to say they are out of range – if the radio is turned on of course.
Benefits of ARTS include:
- Helps make sure everyone keeps in contact at all times.
- Alerts team members if anyone is out of range or offline.
- Saves you from having to try and call someone who has their radio turned off or is out of range.
ARTS is an analogue only feature. It works with Vertex Standard[1] ARTS[2] but not ARTS2[3].
